Sally Edmonds lives in Perth, Western Australia. After a successful career in design and reprographics in the UK print industry, Sally decided to become a full time professional artist in 2014. Her work reflects a passion for wildlife, especially birds. Using pastel, colour pencil and watercolours Sally leans towards realism but deliberately veers away from the more traditional style of portraying wildlife preferring to use a bolder style with visible marks, large size, negative space, dramatic light and exaggerated colour. She has won multiple awards for her work. Sally supports local wildlife conservation centres and also gives free art classes to veterans and serving military personnel as part of the Military Art Programme which seeks to support the mental health of it’s participants.
