It’s easy and cheap to create a picnic spread and setting to make the most of your extra day this weekend.
If you can get your hands on a packing pallet (usually freely available in any industrial area) this will make a perfect base on top of your chosen blanket.
Then just add a linen sheet or other natural fabric to drape over the centre to create a fabric runner. If not, then a blanket will do the trick.
Bring along your wooden chopping boards or mini wooden crates to layer the food. Old suitcases, or anything similar you can find at home.
Pick some fresh flowers on your way to the beach or park and scatter or fill any used jars you have at home.
Create personality and fun through choosing your favourite artist plates and cups from our melamine range. Or bring any favourites from home.
If you’re planning on staying later, bring some candles to fill the jars with light for later. But remember, it’s daylight saving on October 1st!
And voila! Now the only thing you need to decide is the food, where you can check out http://sydneypicnic.com.au/ or get baking and making.
To make the perfect Spring Australiana themed picnic, our top pics would be the illustrated Australiana Botanicals melamine set by artist Lilly Perrott.
If you're planning a family picnic at the beach, then Olivia York's popular Australiana Sweets illustration would set the scene and bring the fun to the party.
