As the sun sets, the trees, scrub and green spaces in between come alive... say Good Evening to our twilight exploring fauna and the beautiful natural habitats of native blooms they dwell amongst. With a nod to archaic Italian murals and geometric designs, this collection celebrates the darker, yet equally if not more beautiful side to Australiana.
The inspiration for this collection stemmed from the magic twilight hours when the Australian bush truly come alive. In house artist, Laura Ramos carefully illustrated Australian native birds, animals and insects including koalas, Numbats, spotted quoll and a vast collection of native Australian flora such as orchids, Banksias, Waratahs and Flannel flowers, where their vivid colours and interesting shapes are contrasted by dark backgrounds.
Whilst developing the artworks for the collection, La La Land creative director, Elie Azzi, was travelling through Italy. “I was so inspired by all the incredible artworks throughout Italy’s churches, and the intrinsic borders that framed each mural. I knew we had to integrate the same approach to our Good Evening collection, to elevate the compositions and really bring a whole new dimension of detail without overpowering Laura's illustrations.”
The fusion of Ramos's intricate illustrations and Azzi's architectural inspiration resulted in a collection that not only captures the vibrant essence of the Australian bush but also elevates it to a level of timeless elegance. Each piece in the Good Evening collection is a testament to the harmonious coexistence of nature's beauty and human creativity.
The decision to integrate border designs reminiscent of Italian murals adds a layer of sophistication and depth to the artworks. These borders serve not only to frame the illustrations but also to guide the viewer's gaze, inviting them to explore every intricate detail within. In this way, the Good Evening collection transcends mere decorative art and becomes an immersive experience, where every viewing unveils new layers of beauty and meaning.
